Aaishah Beeharry

Aaishah has over six (6) years of experience across audit, accounting, and advisory services. She plays an active role in advisory engagements, including financial due diligence, business valuations, business plan preparation, and support for bank financing applications. She also provides technical input on audit engagements involving IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) computations, IFRS 16, group impairment assessments, and the valuation of solar farms and derivatives.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Aaishah was a Senior Executive reporting to IQ‑EQ Netherlands, where she gained substantial experience in Dutch GAAP and IFRS. Her role included overseeing monthly reporting for Stichting de Waag in respect of bond and equity investment portfolios managed by Zürcher Kantonalbank, Julius Bär, and Goldman Sachs.

Before that, at Deloitte, Aaishah gained extensive exposure to the banking industry through the audits of major listed banks and financial institutions in Mauritius. Her responsibilities included engagement planning, risk assessment at both financial statement and assertion levels, and documentation of control and substantive procedures. She also undertook regulatory compliance audits focusing on Basel III requirements and worked closely with banks’ risk management teams in assessing risk‑weighted assets, capital adequacy, and liquidity coverage ratios in line with local and international regulatory frameworks.
