Malta ramps up Cyber Security assistance to businesses

Cyber security is an essential element in every business. It is reported that nearly half of the world’s small and medium entities are being hit by cyber-attacks due to inadequate security measures. These attacks are also becoming increasingly common, with 66% of these businesses being targeted by cyber criminals in the past year.

As part of a €2.9 million project, Maltese businesses are being encouraged to invest more of their time and money in Cyber Security. Businesses are encouraged to apply policies and ensure that security functions are being practiced regularly.

This project is being implemented by the Malta Information Technology Agency, whilst being partially funded by the European Union, through the support of The European Services in Malta.

Tony Sultana, MITA Executive Chairman, stated that based on the quality of work delivered over the years, MITA has become a national technology reference

“On a national level, Malta has a strategy to make sure we have the highest level of cyber security for all those using the internet and the digital world in general.” Hon. Clayton Bartolo
