Grant Thornton awarded for Excellence in the Promotion of Women in Business

Grant Thornton Malta has received the Company Award for Excellence in the Promotion of Women in Business 2020 at the HSBC “Malta Businesswoman of the Year Awards.”

The firm’s outstanding commitment towards empowering women in business, resulted in over 58% of its 120-strong team being made up of women. Grant Thornton Malta carries a firm commitment towards building a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace, where everyone is valued and respected. Judges noted the firm’s organisational culture where people feel they belong and both their uniqueness and opinions are valued. The award was received by Partner George Vella, Head of Advisory and in charge of supervising the firm’s People and Culture department.

The other recipients were Claire Pisani (Malta Businesswoman of the Year), Kristle Penza (Female Entrepreneur of the Year) and Dr Roberta Lepre (Sustainability Role Model Award). HSBC Bank launched the “Malta Businesswoman of the Year Awards” in 2018 to help promote and recognise the excellence of women who have achieved significant success in business. The awards were once again taking place under the patronage of His Excellency George Vella, President of Malta.
