Grant Thornton Malta Hosts CWEG Summit 2026

On 13 and 14 May 2026, Grant Thornton Malta had the pleasure of hosting the Central and West Europe Group (CWEG) Summit at its offices in Birkirkara, welcoming 30 colleagues from across the international Grant Thornton network.
The two-day summit brought together leadership, regional representatives, and International Business Leaders (IBLs) from across Europe. The event provided a valuable platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and strategic discussions, with a strong focus on strengthening cross-border relationships and enhancing the value delivered to clients across international markets.
International Business Leaders (IBLs) play a central role within the Grant Thornton network, acting as key connectors between firms, markets, and clients. Through their extensive experience in global business, IBLs facilitate seamless collaboration across jurisdictions, enabling firms to access the right expertise and capabilities worldwide. Their role also extends to sharing best practices, supporting teams on international processes, and driving greater alignment across the network. Grant Thornton Malta is proud to be represented within this global platform by Wayne Pisani, who actively contributes to strengthening the firm’s international connections.

Throughout the summit, discussions centred on collaboration, growth, and the evolving needs of clients operating in an increasingly global environment. The strong engagement and open exchange of ideas reflected the strength of the network and its shared ambition to deliver consistent, high-quality service across borders.
The feedback received from participants highlighted the impact and success of the event, with many noting the value of the discussions, the energy of the sessions, and the opportunity to connect with colleagues across the region.

Beyond the formal programme, the summit also offered an opportunity to showcase Malta’s rich culture and heritage. Delegates were taken on guided tours of Valletta and Mdina, allowing them to experience the island’s historic landmarks and unique character, while further strengthening connections in a more informal setting.

Hosting the CWEG Summit marks an important milestone for Grant Thornton Malta, reflecting the firm’s active role within the international network and its ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and driving growth across borders. As we look ahead, we remain committed to strengthening international connections, fostering collaboration across borders, and shaping Malta’s future together.
