GħSL partners with Grant Thornton

Grant Thornton have signed a sponsorship agreement with Għaqda Studenti Tal-Ligi (Malta Law Students’ Society), a faculty-based non-profit organisation at the University of Malta that represents all law students within the Faculty of Laws. The agreement will see the firm act as audit, corporate, tax and regulatory advisor to the students’ organisation, whilst providing financial backing to assist GħSL in its broad range of community, academic, networking, and social activities aimed at enriching its members. Grant Thornton will leverage GħSL’s strong presence and student outreach on the university campus and within the local legal community.

GħSL president Lara Attard strongly believes in the partnership. ‘GħSL is an organisation which is continually growing, taking on new projects and seeking to offer the best opportunities to the student which this organisation, as the only Faculty-Based Law Student Organisation, represents. To uphold our high standards, we seek to partner with entities who have our same values, drive and passion towards what they do. For this reasoning GħSL’s natural choice was approaching Grant Thornton.’

‘The Grant Thornton team have not only welcomed our ideas but have always offered to provide the necessary assistance and support for us to implement them. As an organisation, we are definitely looking forward to work with them during this upcoming term and to present the work of this collaboration!’

For the 2018/2019 term GħSL has a bold and clear plan, which will build and develop on the long traditions and solid foundations that form the bedrock of the organisation, whilst at the same time introducing new and innovative ideas. Lara is backed by a strong executive team who has made it their mission to see the organisation keep growing and move forward – both locally and internationally.

Grant Thornton makes it its mission to help businesses and individuals unlock their potential for growth. It is constantly seeking opportunities to build lasting relationships with future generations to develop an effective network of professionals. GħSL provides an excellent opportunity to share, nurture and transmit Grant Thornton’s values amongst law students and junior lawyers, whilst providing the firm with a dynamic platform to scout for new blood to join its growing team.
