What We Need From You

As an Assistant Manager within Grant Thornton's Audit team, you will take ownership of allocated Audit assignments in a way that meets and exceeds client expectations, while taking responsibility for managing and developing staff.

Your day-to-day tasks would include:

  • Effectively managing the Audit process with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues & accounting technical matters
  • Leading and managing fieldwork on client sites including liasing with other departments to ensure smooth delivery of the Audit process.
  • Reviewing work prepared by audit personnel
  • Identifying areas requiring improvement in the client’s business processes and possible recommendations and prepare and deliver the Management Letter to be provided to the client.
  • Organising the team in such a way that processes, roles & responsibilities are clear and work is efficiently and equally divided amongst colleagues
  • Coaching and stimulating more junior profiles in view of the right achievements and personal development and provide more senior executives with inputs to properly proceed to the performance review of counselees.
  • Contributing to effective teamwork in interval engagement situations.
  • Providing on-the-job training for developing auditing skills and familiarity with the firm’s audit methodology; and
  • Such other duties as may be assigned by the Firm from time to time.

 

About You

The successful candidate must:

  • Have an Accounting qualification from university, or recognised body (such as ACCA) at MQF Level 6 or preferably at MQF Level 7
  • Have six years of experience or more, and a proven track record of having worked in a similar role.
  • Demonstrate sound familiarity with a wide range of Microsoft and computerised audit packages.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Show sound task ownership and communication skills as an audit assistant manager, in addition to support and mentor staff.
  • Have previous experience of client work in relevant industries to Grant Thornton audit clients.
