This year’s coveted annual IFSP conference took place today at Xara Lodge with an exceptional attendance from Malta’s leading financial services industry players. Running with the theme Efficiency and innovation – the way forward for Malta’s Financial Services Industry, the full day event covered a wide spectrum of industry topics including recruitment and retention, the upcoming Moneyval evaluation, innovations and emerging technologies within the industry, the changing tax landscape and the way capital markets are evolving.
Grant Thornton was well represented at the event, which included the participation of firm partners Austin Demajo and Dr Wayne Pisani. Dr Pisani also acted as moderator for the discussion panel ‘A strategic vision for Malta's Financial Services industry’ which among other issues tacked the local regulatory landscape and the impact of IT on financial services with the development of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies.
