Grant Thornton to mentor Malta Startup Weekend 2017
Would-be entrepreneurs, or anybody who believes they have the next big idea, have an opportunity to learn what it is like to launch their own company … at least for a weekend. The second edition of the Malta StartUp Weekend will take place this Saturday and Sunday at the Malta Life Sciences park, and Grant Thornton will also be there to offer advisory to the budding entrepreneurs.
Aspiring participants will have the opportunity to dive head-first into their startups and have mentors from different backgrounds and sectors pop in throughout the weekend to help the companies refine their ideas and work on their products before pitching to a panel of judges Sunday evening. The entrepreneurs will experience the highs, lows, fun and pressure that comes with a startup.
The Startup Weekend "immersive" 54-hour education experience provides an educational opportunity to empower people that have a great idea to give them the tools to evaluate that idea and then take the first steps toward turning that idea into a business - all done in a very compressed period of time.
As in previous editions, Grant Thornton will be acting as mentor to the participating teams during the weekend. They will guide the teams to make sure that they will start on the right path, assist them with solving initial challenges and help them creating a booming business plan.
