Michael Mifsud is the Associate Director – People and Culture at Grant Thornton in Malta. He has over 20 years experience working in the field of Human Resources within different industry sectors, most notably manufacturing, I-gaming and professional services.
Michael has been working with Grant Thornton for several years, having previously occupied the position of Human Resources Assistant Director with a Big four firm. Apart from taking over the leadership of the People and Culture team at Grant Thornton he embarked on revamping and restructuring the university internship programme and the ACCA student/worker programme, for those wanting to take up a professional qualification as an Accountant. These two programmes attract a huge interest from high-fliers who would eventually become the future professionals and leaders at Grant Thornton.
Michael is a mature, goal-oriented and reliable individual with straightforward leadership capabilities rooted in integrity, drive and passion. He possess excellent communication skills and this has proven to be a valuable asset within the multicultural environments he has worked in. Michael researched and reads extensively on the link between a one’s personality structure and approach to work. In this way he accompanies employees with sound coaching throughout their career journey.
In collaboration with Grant Thornton International’s People and Culture team, Michael strives to keep improving the organizational development aspect of the firm in order to secure the maximum possible engagement level by all employees.
