
Malta Budget 2023 Highlights
Malta’s budget for 2023, which was presented on October 24th by Finance Minister Clyde Caruana, is set out in the shadows of miscellaneous global economic circumstances - the Covid-19 pandemic, a war within European shores and their effect on the local and world-wide economy.
The revised estimates for 2022 show a marked increase in the deficit from the budgeted € 737 million to € 955 million, 5.8% of GDP, and Public Debt reaching 56.97% of GDP. For 2023, the economy is expected to grow by around 3.5% in real terms.
