Victoria joined Grant Thornton in 2016 as a manager in the Transaction Advisory Services team. In 2017, she was given an additional role as the manager in charge for the Learning and Development function working alongside the People and Culture team.

In 2019, she joined the People and Culture team on a full-time basis and retains her role as the manager in charge for the Learning and Development function. The firm is proud to be a learning organisation. This ensures that each member of staff receives the training required that will allow them to become transformational leaders. Through a Learning and Development manual, Victoria established measures to guarantee a strong and safe learning environment as well as support employees in their professional and personal development.

She engages with internal and external trainers to develop an individual training programme for Grant Thornton employees. Grant Thornton provides training to its interns over the summer recess. The programme is developed and overseen by Victoria and the People and Culture team. Through the development of Advance which is lead by Victoria, Grant Thornton will open its training facilities to people outside of the organisation to share knowledge and experience in respective fields.  Victoria performs other duties within the People and Culture team including detailed analysis of data, applying for EU funding schemes, reviewing and revamping the performance appraisal programme, and many others.

Her role as a manager in the Transaction Advisory Services team gave her the opportunity to work on a variety of assignments, including financial due diligences for the tourism industry, acquisition of a regulated financial institution by various buyers (including the management of a data room), valuation of a manufacturing company, and regulatory assignments for telecoms and the broadcasting industries. She has prepared business plans and investment teasers for clients in the banking, FinTech, eSports, catering, construction, and manufacturing industries.  She has also applied for EU funding on behalf of clients in the catering, manufacturing and the pharmaceutical industries.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Victoria worked for over four years with the Malta Communications Authority (MCA) where she was assigned the analysis of data to support the implementation of regulation as well as the drafting of several MCA’s consultation documents (private/public) and decisions where necessary. Victoria’s portfolio of projects spans across the mobile, fixed and postal sectors. She was involved in the pure-LRIC BUCM for mobile termination rate, benchmarking exercises, financial analysis of unfair burden as a result of the incumbent’s USO obligation, cost of capital calculation as well as reviews of the accounts separation in mobile, fixed and postal sectors. Victoria also represented the MCA at different expert working groups including the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC), European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP) and in European Commission workshops. Prior to the MCA, Victoria has worked in different audit firms for over five years where she has managed the audits of public and private entities.

She has obtained the warrant of a Certified Public Accountant and the Practise Certificate in Auditing in Malta in June 2012. She has also obtained an Award in Employment Law from the Malta Employers Association in September 2020.
