Role at Grant Thornton: Client Accounting Junior Associate

I came to know of Grant Thornton through my elder brother who joined the firm also as an intern last year. He was always talking of his experience with the firm and how inviting he found the environment. A career talk organised by Grant Thornton at St Aloysius College sealed the deal and here I am an intern with the firm myself.

Grant Thornton offers a wide range of services, ranging from audit and assurance to tax and legal, as well as advisory services and outsourcing. These fields were all touched upon during our training programme which span over all summer, combining class room training with hands on experience. What I find most interesting is the atmosphere that exists at Grant Thornton, which is truly collaborative. Everyone is approachable and helpful, be it a partner or a junior. From what I am told from peers working with other professional firms of the same calibre, this is not something common. I sincerely hope that when I finish my studies, I can apply all that I am learning and embark on an exciting career.

What I will treasure most from this internship is the individual attention each one of us gets. For sure an intern at Grant Thornton is not just a number. For Grant Thornton, the CLEARR values the firm vows to honour are not just a tick box, but a tangible reality that other firms should aspire for.
